Italian Varietals

Each cultivar was matched to the optimum vineyard site possible. The range consists of 17 different varietals and provides a unique and direct comparison between the famous French wines of Bordeaux and the Rhone, Tuscany and Piedmont, but expressed in the Cape terroir.

A stylish wine with a tantalising nose and complex mouth-feel. Rich red and sour cherry aromas are enhanced by savoury notes and spicy flavours of tobacco and tar. A great balance between tannin and fruit make this a grand Sangiovese for the connoisseur.

An explosive wine typical of our exotic ‘primitivo’. Aromas of fynbos and a fusion of sage, rosemary and mint dominate the nose. Intense flavours of blackberries and raspberries on the palate enhance the sweet cooking herbs making the mouth water at the thought of potential food matches.

With its origins in Piedmont, the Barbera varietal offers intense aromatics and richness and is at its best in the hills of Alba and Asti in north-west Italy.

Only a handful of South African producers offer Nebbiolo as part of their portfolio. A varietal that requires precision, it has its origins in the heartland of the tiny Barolo region in north-west Italy.
