French Cultivar

Each cultivar was matched to the optimum vineyard site possible. The range consists of 18 different varietals and provides a unique and direct comparison between the famous French wines of Bordeaux and the Rhone, Tuscany and Piedmont, but expressed in the Cape terroir.

An aromatic, barrel matured Viognier with typical straw colour. Initial top notes of vanilla develop into a complex mélange of ripe melon, dried apricots and chunky nougat on the nose. This medium bodied wine has a smooth, rounded mid palate followed by a lingering sensation of orange blossoms and spices. Serve chilled and enjoy the evolution of flavours in the glass.

A complex, medium to full bodied example of barrel fermented Semillon. A delicate citrus perfume with whiffs of lemon meringue, yellow plum and white pepper. A voluptuous mid-palate with notes of kumquat, grapefruit and vanilla custard reveal Semillon’s structured character and good length. A wine that will benefit from cellaring and a definite food companion.

A three-barrel limited release of Malbec. A rich, medium-bodied wine with sweet blackcurrant and prune aromas. Evolving flavours of fruit pastilles and blueberries are supported by velvety tannins and a long lingering finish. A bright, fruity and fresh Malbec. Decanting recommended.
