Italian Festival at Idiom

SAT 3rd & SUN 4th MARCH 2018

A Taste of Italy returns to the countryside of Somerset West the first weekend of March 2018 with a full weekend of Italian themed activities planned at Idiom’s spectacular Visitor Centre   overlooking the Helderberg mountains and False Bay. A festive carnival atmosphere will entertain lovers of Italian lifestyle. Visitors will be able to get to interact with their favourite Italian brands, enjoy and experience a variety of Italian dishes, participate in masterclasses dedicated to Italian wine and indigenous grape varieties, drink bubbles in the Prosecco tent, sample Italian craft beer while listening to a live band playing Italian and other music over the weekend. For families, don’t miss the kid’s Italian village full of fun activities.

This year festival goers can look forward to a cooking theatre with local celebrity chefs showing off their Italian cooking skills. A wide range of food stalls will be serving mouth-watering delicacies including artisanal pastas, pizzas, gelato and pastries while local participating Italian restaurants and chefs will be offering taste size portions of signature regional Italian dishes. Bring your shopping basket to fill up on mortadella, salami, prosciutti and formaggi (Italian charcuterie and cheeses) from the new Deli point as well as browse books & fashion accessories and other goodies from niche Italian vendors. Find out what makes Italian coffee special, check out the live mozzarella bar and learn some Italian with the ladies from LaDante Italian school.
