The World Luxury Restaurant Awards announces,
Best Panoramic View in Africa for Idiom Restaurant
A reason to smile and be proud of our beautiful country.
2020 has been a rollercoaster year for everyone. We’re particularly proud of our team at Idiom for how they responded to the tough trading restrictions imposed by the authorities during the pandemic. In particular, the kitchen’s creation of the superb Idiom Eat@Home offering (which we are continuing with in the interim) brought a smile to the face of many local customers during lockdown and deserves a special mention.
It’s a smile that we see when guests arrive at Idiom for the first time on a beautiful day and then again the second time when they bring their friends or international guests to show off the beauty of our Helderberg mountain landscapes and Cape Peninsula bay views.
So as we try return to a new normal, we received a welcome boost this week when we were informed that Idiom Restaurant was chosen as the
2020 Winner for Africa in Best Panoramic Views category
at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.
Perhaps lockdown and nature itself had something to do with this award.
There were days this year when the Cape Peninsula and False Bay looked like they were visible in 4K high definition due to the temporary decline in smog and pollution. Hopefully a move to increasingly electrified future will keep those views clear forever.
And for those of you that haven’t been to Idiom yet, perhaps it’s time to visit.
Now our job is make sure that our food and wines match up to our views!
