The team at Idiom Wines in the Helderberg Basin prepared a treat for guests on Heritage Weekend with a special lineup of heritage-inspired food menus, themed wine tastings, and activities which took place from Thursday 24th Sept to Sunday 27th September.
“We’ll kick off with a 3-course Prosecco v MCC Breakfast Menu from 9am followed by a 4 course Heritage Lunch Menu with wine pairing to celebrate our family’s Italian and Cape heritage. In the late morning, we will be hosting some of our famous themed wine tastings and masterclasses. We are also arranging some guided walks up the historic Gantouw Pass Wagon Trail and late afternoon 4×4 rides up to the top of the farm to take in the panoramic views of the Cape Peninsula across False Bay.” says Idiom owner Roberto Bottega.
“2020 has been a demanding year with the stresses of COVID, so we would like to invite guests to relax, spend half a day with us to enjoy some wide open spaces and take in some of the wonderful mountain air and beautiful views. My advice is to look at the schedule and try and combine eating and wine tasting with an activity to make the most of your outing. So come early for the breakfast followed by a walk, or if you prefer you can walk before enjoying the Heritage Lunch Menu. Another option is to book for the guided wine tasting followed by lunch. The activities and guided wine tastings will be offered free of charge for breakfast and lunch guests.”
The weekend was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all that attended. Have a look at the photos from this weekend:
