Somerset West, South Africa – 25 October 2024
Idiom Wines is excited to unveil its brand-new Eco-Safari Drive, an exclusive adventure that invites guests to explore the unique flora and fauna of the Cape’s rich biodiversity, nestled within our scenic estate.
The Idiom Eco-Safari Drive, now available to book online, offers a guided tour through our pristine fynbos reserve, located on the slopes of the majestic Helderberg mountain range. This one-of-a-kind experience allows guests to connect with nature in an eco-conscious manner while immersing themselves in the beauty of the Western Cape’s famous biodiversity hotspot. The safari meanders through a variety of indigenous plant species, including endangered fynbos, as well as lush vineyards that contribute to Idiom’s renowned range of wines.
During the safari, guests will have the chance to encounter local wildlife, such as zebra (quagga), bontebok, springbok, and wildebeest, all while taking in panoramic vistas of False Bay, Table Mountain, and the Cape Peninsula. Nature guides will share insights into the ecological importance of the fynbos biome, sustainable wine production, and Idiom’s ongoing conservation efforts to preserve this fragile ecosystem.
The adventure doesn’t end with the drive. After the wildlife safari, guests have the option to enjoy a Fynbos-inspired lunch at the Idiom Restaurant, where they can savour local ingredients, many of which are sourced directly from the farm. The meal is carefully paired with Idiom’s award-winning wines, offering an elevated tasting experience that celebrates the estate’s exceptional terroir.
“By blending our love for nature with our passion for creating world-class wines, we’ve created a unique offering that not only delights the senses but also underscores our commitment to sustainability,” says Roberto Bottega, owner of Idiom Wines. “We are excited to offer our guests a chance to experience the fauna & flora of the Cape at one of the most spectacular settings.”
The Idiom Eco-Safari Drive is perfect for nature lovers, wine enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a unique, safari drive experience. The safari drive departs every morning at 11 am and includes a signature wine tasting of the Idiom Cape Red as part of the experience. There are 3 booking options to choose from:
