Idiom Rosso di Stellenbosch 2019
R150.00
A lively, medium-bodied red wine with notes of red cherries and raspberries. Delicate oaking in 2nd fill and older barrels contributes to both fruity and savoury notes continuing on the palate. A beautiful, aromatic expression of this cultivar with good acidity and plenty of potential. A perfect match for antipasto or Italian-style meat and pasta dishes.
Sangiovese (91%), Barbera (9%)

Vinification Details | The grapes went into cold storage overnight before being de-stemmed and crushed straight into the press. The free run and first press juice was kept separate from the heavy pressed juice. After 2 days of settling at between 11-14 degrees Celsius, the juice was racked of its lees and inoculated with a carefully selected cultivated yeast. Fermentation took place at 18 degrees Celsius for 2 weeks. The wine was thereafter, lightly fined and filtered before being bottled. |
